St Mary’s Surgery, Ely would like to recruit an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Practitioner, Paramedic or Nurse Practitioner with a Prescribing qualification who can help us to continue providing excellent care to our patients. We have 2 positions available due to retirement and relocation and we would consider full time or part-time hours and can be flexible for the right candidate.

You will be an integral member of the duty team, working alongside the duty GP and triage nurses to run the acute service. This will involve a combination of triage, face to face and home visits.

About the Candidate

Ideally the successful candidate will have:

  • Non-medical prescriber qualification.
  • Experience of working autonomously and being flexible with daily demands.
  • Be experienced with demonstrating critical thinking within a safe clinical decision-making process.
  • Ability to carry out clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.
  • Ability to carry out home visits to house bound patients and those in care homes.

Other desirable criteria would be

  • Advanced Nurse Practitioner Qualification ideally at a Masters level.
  • Be prepared to complete necessary portfolio for the accreditation process, when this becomes a criteria to call yourself an Advance Clinical/Nurse Practitioner

About Us

The clinical team is currently situated in temporary accommodation on the Princess of Wales Hospital site in Ely whilst a major building project is being undertaken to our premises in central Ely which we hope to move back into mid November 2022.  We are a team of 5 Partners, 7 salaried GP’s, 1 Clinical Nurse Manager, 10 Practice Nurses, 7 HCA’s, along with an experienced Practice and Assistant Manager, IT manager and excellent dispensary, referrals and patient services teams who recognise the pressures of the clinical team and work hard to support them.

We are very fortunate to have PCN staff working with us and these include a physio, a clinical pharmacist, medical technician, social prescriber, a health and well-being coach and a drug and alcohol support worker.

It is important to us as a Practice that we work in a supportive environment where we balance the need of providing excellent patient care with the wellbeing of our team.
