Bank Senior Oncology Nurse - Cancer services

Nuffield Health St Bartholomew's

Hourly bank work £25.00

We've recently opened the doors to Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital: The City of London's only independent hospital, situated next to St Bartholomew's NHS hospital. This is our flagship centre for cardiac services and will also provide a full range of surgical and medical services, including: orthopaedics, oncology, general surgery, gynaecology and urology services.

The new hospital will consist of:

  • 48 inpatient and day case bedrooms

  • 28 consultation rooms

  • Three digital operating theatres

  • Cardiac catheterisation lab

  • Specialist intensive care beds

  • Oncology day unit

  • Endoscopy and minor ops theatre

  • Full diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and general X-ray

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, your specialist training must include an Oncology postgraduate qualification and a minimum of ILS. You will have extensive experience of managing Oncology patients who are undergoing systemic anti cancer therapy and will have completed the UKONS SACT competency passport. You've also got an impressive senior level knowledge and will have a minimum of 2 years' senior experience working in an Oncology setting.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and you will be able to provide clinical leadership, act as a mentor and role model, manage complex patient care, and lead the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse. You will support individuals and teams to deliver safe, high quality and effective patient care that is responsive to the needs of our patients and their families. Along the way, you'll build strong relationships with consultants, hospital senior leaders, a wide range of healthcare professionals and, of course, patients.
