Job Role
School Nurse

The Godolphin and Latymer School is one of the country’s leading independent day schools for girls, located on a six acre site in Hammersmith, London.  The School’s facilities are excellent, making it an exciting place to learn and work.  The students at Godolphin and Latymer receive unrivalled academic and pastoral support and outstanding examination results are achieved.

Overseen by our Senior Deputy Head (Pastoral), the School boasts a fantastic medical department, staffed during the term time by two School Nurses.  We currently seek to appoint our second Registered School Nurse to work on a part time basis, joining our full time Senior School Nurse.

The key responsibilities of the post will include: dealing with accidents and illnesses of students and staff, arranging booster vaccinations, and liaising with the teaching staff and parents about individual or general health issues.  The successful candidate should have experience of working with children and/or have a background in primary care.

The working hours will be 8.00am to 4.30pm four days per week during the term time and the complete week in which a term begins and ends.  The exact working days will be agreed on appointment.  Flexibility with working days may be required on occasion.

The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.

There is no closing date for this vacancy.

Applications will be considered on receipt and interviews may occur at any stage.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and responsibility.  Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

All staff working in the School during the school day will have some contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity.  In this role you are likely to be regularly working directly with, and be responsible for, children in your care.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
