Admiral Nurse (Dementia Specialist Nurse)

We are looking for someone with a passion in dementia care to join our Admiral Nurse team. 

In collaboration with Dementia UK, the London Borough of Sutton are looking to recruit a registered Nurse (RN, RNMH, RNLD) to join our team as an Admiral Nurse to deliver relationship-centred dementia care to families across the London Borough of Sutton. 

Main duties

Admiral Nurses are registered nurses who are dementia specialists. They help families manage complex needs, considering the person living with dementia and the people around them. 

Under the supervision of the Admiral Nurse Team Lead and alongside two other Band 6Admiral Nurses, you will provide tailored clinical advice and psychological support to families affected by Dementia. You will also help to support best practice with other health and care professionals.

You will receive ongoing first class training and support from Dementia UK to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse within dementia care. This interesting and rewarding area of nursing has a wide variety of opportunities to develop further skills and take your career in an exciting direction. 

You will become part of the wider network of Admiral Nurses and will have the opportunity to access relevant postgraduate courses and develop professionally, as informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework.

About you

Our Admiral Nurses are Registered Nurse’s (RN, RNMH, RNLD) with a passion for dementia care, alongside relevant post-registration clinical experience of supporting families affected by dementia. You do not need previous Admiral Nursing experience as full induction and ongoing training is provided internally and through partnerships.
