Our Theatre department has 4 theatres which facilitate Major Ortho Hip/Knee spinal fusions, Major Gynae both laparoscopic and open, Urology including laser HOLEPs and cutting edge SPACEOAR procedures, ENT including surgical procedures with two Professors, Plastic surgery including a world renown DIEP surgeon, General Surgery, Opthalmics and Maxxilofacial.

You will be encouraged to develop with a number of resources we have available; you will have access to are extensive learning and development prospectus, be able to utilise our digital theatre which doubles up as a teaching tool with links to other hospitals, surgical first assist training (SFA) and opportunity to undertake Advanced life support training (ALS) . You are supported by a knowledgeable, friendly and hardworking team, who can boast recognition from the CQC with an outstanding review for Safety. The opportunity

We are looking for someone to take an active role in leading a well-established efficient and dynamic team.

As our Theatre clinical leader you will:

  • Support the Theatre Manager with staff competence and ensure the service is safely and appropriately covered.
  • To act as a role model, leading, coaching and mentoring staff, and promoting the adoption of evidence-based and innovative practices e.g. WHO Checklist.
  • To undertake management of Medical Devices for Theatres and ensure compliance in terms of servicing and maintaining devices throughout the hospital in conjunction with clinical Heads of departments and Maintenance Engineers


The person

To succeed as a Theatre clinical leader , you will need

  • Experience of clinical leadership and team supervision
  • Significant post-registration experience at RN/RODP Level
  • IT skills
  • Proficient communicator (verbal and written)

Salary - Dependent on experience
Location - Brentwood

Hours - Full time, 37.5 hours per week
