About our department

 

Vale hospital has state of the art modern digital theatres - we have 2 major theatres that are bespoke designed to the highest standards with a full range of digital equipment. We also have 2 theatres at Cardiff Bay hospital that funnel our day case, ophthalmic and endoscopy procedures. Both teams are well led and supported by our theatre manager who promotes professional development and inclusive culture. Our theatres perform a range of specialities major orthopaedics, general surgery, spinal, gynaecology , urology, ENT, ophthalmic, paediatrics, breast, cosmetics, and we are constantly adding and improving our range of services.

 

As a Theatre Scrub Nurse Practitioner, you will:-

 

  • Work on a varied caseload using technology, equipment and facilities, which are all state-of-the-art.
  • Prepare the operating room by maintaining sterile procedure to set out instruments and set up other surgical equipment.
  • Be familiar with all surgical instruments and be comfortable assisting with a variety of surgical procedures.
  • Recognise respiratory and cardiovascular decline and know initial steps to obtain help and to stabilize your patient.
  • Supervise, support and develop junior members of staff.
  • Deliver high quality care and experiences for patients, which is always clinically effective, evidence based and appropriate.

 

What are we looking for in a Theatre Scrub Nurse Practitioner? You will have:-

 

  • Qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC or HCPC.
  • Post-registration experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and will be a great team worker. You will also be flexible and motivated.
