The Nursing Team at Queen Alexandra College (QAC) are looking for an enthusiastic, qualified Nurse, who is passionate about providing the best possible care and support to young adults with physical, learning and neuro disabilities. Your input will allow our students to get the best out of their time with QAC. 

Our small nursing team work closely with our other departments, including the curriculum and residential departments, and our therapists, to support our students to best manage their individual health needs whilst at college. As well as direct contact with our students on a daily basis, to administer medication and treatment, you will support with providing guidance and appropriate training to other staff, complete assessments and liaise with parents, carers and other health professionals as required. 

We are able to offer regular, daytime, working hours, Monday – Friday 43 weeks per year. There may be a requirement to do some working outside of these hours to support with training, as required. The majority of working hours are within term time (39 weeks) with the additional four weeks worked during the summer break, with days agreed with your line manager, considering the ongoing needs of the service. 

The role is an opportunity for either a qualified and experienced nurse to develop their skills in a different setting, or a newly qualified Nurse to develop their practice. 

We are based in Harborne, Birmigham, which has good transport links and is served by frequent bus services.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent 

Salary: £26,166.40 to £29,033.16 per annum, with a further 2% increase expected from September 2022, payable from December 2022. Queen Alexandra College will pay the successful candidates registration fees for a maximum of two years from the date of employment.
