The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority, is the principal healthcare service provider in the Cayman Islands, offering the most comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and public health services through a 124-bed hospital and four District Health Centres on Grand Cayman, an 18-bed hospital in Cayman Brac and a satellite outpatient clinic in Little Cayman.

We invite applications for the following positions:

 

                           NURSE MANAGER – PAEDIATRIC UNIT

Salary range: KYD$80,889 – KYD$97,259 per annum

Salary range: US$96,296 – US$115,784 per annum

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the nursing care and the financial and resource management provided on the unit. The post-holder will manage the nursing and business functions of the assigned unit to ensure that the care provided meets established standards.

Qualifications & Experience: The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, with a post-basic qualification in Paediatrics and a management qualification.; A Master’s degree is beneficial. Must be eligible for licensure with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of the Cayman Islands. Must have at least ten (10) years of current nursing experience, three (3) years of which must be in a management capacity with demonstrated leadership abilities. The successful candidate must have demonstrated the ability to perform efficiently in high-stress situations.

 

SENIOR NURSE LEADER- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Salary range: KYD$80,889 – KYD$97,259 per annum

Salary range: US$96,296 – US$115,784 per annum

The Nurse Leader is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of nursing practice through education and targeted intervention. The post-holder will develop, implement, and coordinate the transition to practice for all new Registered Nurse graduates; coordinate and oversees the preceptorship of students in collaboration with the UCCI School of Nursing; and develops and communicates standards of nursing practice in collaboration with Nurse Managers. The successful applicant will be required to review and update clinical policies in accordance with current relevant evidence, as well as monitor Qualifications and Experience: The minimum qualifications for the role are a Master’s Degree in Nursing with at least ten (10) years current nursing experience, three (3) of which must be in a leadership capacity. The applicant must be proficient in the use of Windows applications, use of monitoring equipment, respiratory support machines, and other equipment utilized in the department. Exhibit a caring and compassionate attitude, respecting the diversity of religion, race, culture, sexual orientation, and medical diagnosis. Have demonstrated the ability to perform efficiently in high-stress situations.

 

CLINICAL EDUCATOR

Salary range: CI$62,316 – CI$72,615 per annum

Salary range: US$75,995 – US$88,554 per annum

The Clinical Educator develops, implements, and evaluates nursing education activities. Assists in the orientation and development of the nursing staff and in the implementation of performance and quality improvement measures. Provides education related to professional or clinical knowledge, skills, and attitudes of nursing services personnel and ensures attainment and maintenance of clinical competency standards. The post-holder will promote nurse professional development and competency through specialized training and certification programs. As an educator/preceptor, the postholder will develop a curriculum for the identified programs based on the standards of care, evidence-based practices, and education needs of the participants. This includes assessing the teaching needs essential to continuing education and developing individualized programs to improve identified areas of weakness. Post holder identifies, evaluates, and implements instructional material in multiple types of media and formats to meet the needs of the Nursing Staff. Maintains and prepares reports regarding employee education via clinical skills or other training delivery processes of staff training activities.

Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate should possess a Master’s degree in Nursing with a concentration in Clinical Education. Must have at least five (5) years of current nursing experience. The ability to assess educational needs and develop and deliver appropriate curricula is vital. Communication and presentation skills are essential.

 

REGISTERED NURSES – School Health, Mental Health, Critical Care & Pediatric

Salary range: CI$62,316 – CI$72,615 per annum

Salary range: US$75,995 – US$88,554 per annum

The Registered Nurse will provide care in the specialist units in accordance with education and experience. The Registered Nurse will assess, monitor, record, and report promptly, symptoms or changes in the patient’s condition to the relevant physician. Maintain accurate detailed reports and records of patient care provided. Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activities. Consult and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess plan and implement or evaluate patient care plans. Plan for and contributes to the learning experience of Nursing students. The post-holder will disseminate information received on ward rounds to other members of staff, ensuring that new developments are noted /documented and executed. Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a relevant specialty certification or experience.   Must have three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

The candidates must be registered in either of the following jurisdictions to be eligible to practice in the Cayman Islands; Jamaica, USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
