At Carnival UK, we are looking for someone to be based in Southampton, working with our Health Services function as an Occupational Health Nurse. You will be based at our beautiful offices located in central Southampton just a stones throw from the water. This exciting role will have responsibility for reviewing the Occupational Health and Wellbeing of seafarers on-board Carnival UK ships and implementing new strategies to support our international crew

This role is offered on an initial full time 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

The Role

As an Occupational Health Nurse within the Seafarer Health team, you’ll enjoy an interesting role entirely bespoke to Carnival UK. You’ll work closely with colleagues both on shore and aboard Carnival UK ships to review the Occupational Health and Wellbeing needs ofthe international Seafarers across our fleet.

You will also be responsible for  providing succinct and relevant guidance to Health Services Leadership and Stakeholders and for setting expectations within the business relating to policy and guidance. You will liaise with colleagues across the organisation to develop and implement strategies that support our Seafarers in the best possible way.

Additionally, you will:

  • Work closely with stakeholders, to raise awareness, develop, and implement strategies   to promote andmanage attendance Support clinical responsibilities within Seafarer Health and drive delivery of effective and efficient case management of Carnival UK seafarers on medical leave
  • Undertake visits to Carnival UK ships to:
  • Meet with onboard medical teams and seafarers,
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the environments and ways of working onboard Promote occupational health strategies and attendance management measures

About You

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • To hold a Nursing Qualification and hold current active NMC registration
  • To have experience of working within an Occupational Health role or hold a relevant qualification
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholder interactions in complex situations
  • Experience of having key problem solving responsibilities
