Clinical Nurse Specialist - Oncology
Oxford | Oncology | Permanent | Full time (37.5 hours per week) | Includes occasional weekend work
Up to £47,750 depending on experience

Oncology nursing is challenging and rewarding - and your passion will make all the difference to our cancer patients. Working flexible hours Monday to Friday, you'll be motivated to provide the highest standard of care as part of our experienced, motivated and compassionate nursing team.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist works closely alongside surgeons and oncologists to provide holistic care, support, advice and information to patients who have been diagnosed with cancer. You will be involved in patient care from diagnosis, throughout the patient journey through to discharge, working as part of the oncology team, alongside experienced and motivated nurses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical knowledge to patients and families enabling, them to actively participate in their current and future care
- Management of any complex symptoms the patient may experience with regards to their diagnosis
- Provision of ongoing emotional and psychological support to patients and their families as required
- Promotion of effective communication skills amongst all professionals
- To actively participate in the planning and delivery of high-quality specialist oncology, supportive and palliative care through holistic assessment
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of information, policies and cancer resources, locally, regionally and nationally
- Assessment, planning and implementation of a care plan within the Manor's different departments, other acute settings such as the local NHS Trust, and a variety of community services
