About the role and our team

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior nurse with proven managerial leadership to join our nursing leadership team as an Associate Director of Nursing!

Based at Noble's Hospital, you will form part of our Triumvirate Leadership Team alongside the Care Group Manager and Clinical Director for Cancer Services. You will take responsibility for the strategic development and operational assurance of Cancer Services on the Isle of Man.

This role is dynamic and varied, and will involve leading on clinical governance, and ensuring patient focused integrated service development to the standards within the Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance and Tertiary Centres.

To be successful in this role, you will be an approachable senior leader with an extensive track record in effective change management and strategic working.

What can this role offer me?

By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.

You will have access to excellent development facilities and support, including our on-site education & training centre Keyll Darree. Our nursing and management teams strongly encourage personal and professional development.

We have free on-site car parking at Noble’s Hospital. You’ll also receive a competitive salary with incremental pay progression and excellent holiday entitlement.

Manx Care is committed to creating smoke-free spaces and is ‘proud to be smoke free’ as part of the overall Isle of Man Smoke Free 2030 ambition. As of April 1st 2021 smoking is no longer permitted on our Manx Care & DHSC sites, including nursing, residential and EMI units around the Island.

About the Island and relocating

Here you can enjoy a fantastic quality of life, and an excellent work-life balance! There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities; so if you like walking, mountain biking, sailing or kayaking, you’ll have lots of places to explore!

There are also lots of great cafes, bars and restaurants, and you can enjoy the Island’s real sense of community. The island is well connected to the UK, and you’ll also benefit from low income tax rates (20% maximum rate).

If you are relocating or returning to the Island, you can also benefit from the National Insurance Holiday Scheme, which allows you to apply for a refund on your NI contributions for your 1st year of living here.

A relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month. This role also qualifies for a recruitment incentive of £3,000, payable in the 1st, 13th, and 25th months of employment.
