Every day of your life matters – from the first to the last. When you work for Marie Curie, you understand that better than ever. We’re a passionate, committed and diverse team of more than 4,400 staff and 12,000 volunteers, here for people living with any terminal illness, and their families.

We offer expert care, guidance and support, to help them get the most from the time they have left.

Everyone knows our daffodil, but it’s our warmth, creativity and care that touch lives. Here, we take the time to really get to know the people we care for and those who love them. And we do whatever it takes to give them the final days and hours they deserve.

This is an exciting opportunity for Nurses to join Marie Curie Liverpool Hospice In-Patient Unit. We currently have eight full-time vacancies for Band 5 Nurses due to an increase in funding for an innovative service development. This will allow us to reach more patients who require palliative care across Liverpool.

As a Marie Curie Nurse, you'll play an important role in helping people living with a terminal illness to be comfortable and to make the most of the time they have left. You will provide high quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care needs for the patient.

You will work as part of a team, using a patient-centred approach and evidenced based practice. You will be expected to administer medication and treatment, as prescribed in accordance with the NMC’s and the Charity’s policies and guidelines. You will also provide emotional, psychological and spiritual support for patients and carers.

You will make a truly meaningful difference to people's lives when they are at their most vulnerable. It's a challenging but highly rewarding job. Many families say they can't thank our teams enough for the support they received as the person they cared for was dying.

 What we are looking for:

  • RGN level 1 registration.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of palliative care and the needs of patients with complex symptoms as well as at end of life.
  • Forward thinking with excellent communication skills.

What’s in it for you:

  • The time to provide individual and patient-centred care.
  • Competitive pay and holiday entitlements.
  • Excellent on-the-job training and support from experienced experts.
  • Clinical supervision opportunities.
  • Access to our bursary scheme.
  • Enrolment on our occupational pension scheme (members of the NHS pension scheme can transfer this across, if eligible).
  • Flexible Working.

This role will be subject to receiving a satisfactory Enhanced criminal record check.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early.  Agencies need not apply.
