Qualifications: 

           Essential - RGN (Part 1 of the NMC Register) or ODP, or SSD Supervisors Managers Course.
 

•           Desirable - City & Guilds Accredited SSD Supervisors / Manager’s Course          

Reports to: Clinical Nurse Manager (Surgical)

Responsible to: Director of Nursing

The Gibraltar Health Authority invites applications from Registered First Level Nurses/Operating Department Practitioners, or person in possession of a or SSD Supervisors Managers Course with appropriate experience in Operating Theatres who possess excellent interpersonal & organisational skills to enter into a development programme relative to their clinical background for the post of TSSU/CSSD Manager.

The successful candidate will be required to direct, coordinate and supervise the activities of personnel with the TSSU/CSSD including the documentation & sterilisation of medical supplies, instruments & equipment for the use in the care/treatment of patients.  The successful applicant will be user as identified in HTM2010 & HTM2030 & will be responsible for authorising the use of decontamination equipment.

The post entails close liaison with Operating Theatre & other GHA Departments to ensure the provision of high standards of service delivery in accordance with GHA guidelines, policies & procedures.

It should be noted that applicants must, by virtue of their citizenship or residence status, be entitled to take up employment in Gibraltar.

Salary, according to experience ranges from £38,414 to £47,473 per annum, plus allowances. Return economy class air-fares from the UK are payable in full. In addition, a rented accommodation allowance of £350 is payable, solely whilst on a fixed- term contract and upon submission of an official rent agreement.
